Golden Jail…

2014-16

[medium format photography, pigment prints on Hanhmuhle archival paper, 65x85x5 cm]

“Golden Jail | Discovering Subjection” is a series of photographs on cotton paper, enrolled and superimposed. The project was produced by two different residency programs in Cairo and Bahrain which took place in 2012 and 2014.* With manual intervention on the prints, it is suggested the process of cancellation and camouflage operated by the power to preserve itself, with particular reference to two of the countries where has took place the "Arab Spring", Bahrain and Egypt.
